Dermot Bryers – English Teacher andProject Manager

Dermot Bryers qualified as an EFL teacher with Oxford House College in London in 2002 and has recently completed his DELTA qualification at the same College. He taught English in Argentina, Guatemala, Belgium and England. He is from London holds a masters in Development Studies from SOAS University. His first degree was in Modern History and English at Oxford University. He has worked as a community organiser and English language teacher since graduating in 2006. Frances Green – English Teacher

Frances Green qualified as a EFL teacher with International House in Mexico and she has since taught both in Mexico and in London. She is originally from London and is currently studying for a Masters degree in Migration and Diaspora Studies in SOAS, London University. Her first degree was in English and American Literature at Manchester University. After University she volunteered with The Refugee Council for six months, where she worked closely with a client advisor, dealing with asylum application problems and queries. Frances has been closely involved with English for Action from the beginning.


Camille Makunganya – Project Consultant

Camille Makunganya first started teaching English in April 2004 in a scheme piloted by London CITIZENS when she was Associate Organiser working with communities in south London. She qualified as an EFL teacher with Oxford House College in London in August 2004. She raised funds with the help and support of UnLTd and London CITIZENS to further continue the teaching scheme until March 2005. She obtained a degree in Politics with French at University of Warwick and currently works at Save the Children UK. She maintains a strong interest in English for Action and its commitment to aiding the integration of low-income migrant workers in the UK's public life.
